Strange!

Just found out about 2 days back that my left hand fingers and nails look way different from my right hand! Left hand fingernails definitely look like my dad's and right like my mom's.
God's ways are strange :)

Age gap

Yesterday, a colleague's 13 yr old daughter called me 'aunty'.
Now, disconcerting as that is, it got me all thinking.
There should be a universally established 'age gap' beyond which a younger person can address the other older person as uncle / aunty!

The next time she calls me aunty - I'm gonna start callin her mom - my colleague that is - AUNTY!
- A 25 year old.

Flaasophy

Once you're married, you always are.
One you have a child, you're always a parent.
As you grow older is when you seem to 'know what you want'.
Kids always wanna 'be grown up'
and grown-ups wish they 'get younger'.

Feelin philosophical

Don't know why, but I suddenly feel a bit philosophical today.
It is 2:03 PM 11th Mar 09.

I suddenly miss being a child
Leading a life without a single worry
without expectations
without disappointments
without having to work hard or save money
or buy new stuff
or 'plan' to have fun
or brag about how you're leading a happy life
one way or the other.

I want to become a child again.
Live without a single worry....

Miss my parents' home
Miss my mother, father, grandparents and brother.

Some stupid stuff I did recently

I had had tea at around 2 PM on a weekday at work.
When a colleague came and asked me if I wanted to join her for a tea break at around 2.30, I told her - "I had tea recently". God knows why I had blabbered
But then, we had a good laugh right then!

I had been to this birthday party where I had taken a picture from one of those instant digital sketch machines. The photo gets printed out in a cute credit card type o thing.
When I went to wave goodbye to the b'day kid's mom, the toddler caught hold of my card and wouldn't let go! I loved my photo; had made sure my jhimki (a traditional dangling earring) was well-seen in the pic. I pulled the card from the b'day boy's hand and he started crying...
I waited for a good five minutes and tried again. It was a futile attempt - he seemed to want the card and was 'literally' drooling over it. Finally the kid's mom had him distracted with some gift box and managed to return the photo card to me! :)
I had fought with a one-year old on his birthday.

One morning, I asked a few colleagues "So what plans for the weekend??". Surprised, one of them replied" It is just Tuesday". Little do I keep track of days of the week and dates. Sometimes even the year!
